Asian American and Pacific Island Heritage Month is celebrated all across the ocean. From the shores of the western United States to Hawaii… throughout the Pacific Islands of Polynesia, Micronesia and Melanesia… all the way to the Asian continent.

It also marks the anniversary of the completion of the six-year, 1,911-mile-long transcontinental railroad on May 10, 1869 in Promontory Point, Utah by Chinese workers.
