International Women’s Day Should Be All Month Long
Though only celebrated once a year, we propose that International Women’s Day should be extended throughout March.
To that end, we want to shine the spotlight on Susan Cisneros, Chief Operating Officer at Sunstone Trust Company, who oversees our vendor relationships, coordinates our product development initiatives, and heads our regulatory efforts. She is also vetting new clients and planning a series of webinars to introduce the capabilities and value of trust services to a younger generation.
With over three decades of financial industry experience, including 24 years working in the trust sector, Ms. Cisneros was the Senior Trust Officer and President at OFI Global Trust Company, a division of Oppenheimer Funds for 15 years and 5 years respectively. There, she helped lead the company to a significant milestone, scaling from $500 million in Assets Under Management (AUM) to $3.5 billion, among other accomplishments in operations and administration.
Prior to that, she was a portfolio administrator within Oppenheimer Capital’s International Division where she was mentored by a team of brilliant investment professionals who really helped shape and define Ms. Cisneros’s views on the benefits of embracing technology for portfolio management and for successful engagement of clients on a global scale.
“Because of the pandemic, people of a certain age are now actively using the available technology and readily conducting their financial business over their smart phones or computers,” says Ms. Cisneros. “There’s been a quantum shift, even from regulators, to accept and engage in services that create a safe and comprehensive client experience through the use of tech, and one extremely valuable example is the use of e-signatures. I’m very excited about our future as a newly launched trust company backed by a wealth and depth of experience on our management team. With very few independent trust companies around, we may be the first dynamic company of its kind with innovative products and services to take us into the 22nd century. I look forward to helping steer our company through different stages of growth.”
Married for 29 years, Susan and her husband have three children in their 20s.
